Storms of the Great Plains
The Great Plains of the United States (and the southern Prairies of Canada) are home to more tornado-producing supercells than anywhere else in the world. Over three trips in 2017, 2018 and 2024, I chased storms through Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado and New Mexico with storm-chaser Mike Olbinski who got me to the storms and, more importantly, kept me safe. In July, the storm season moves into Canada and I caught one more storm in Manitoba in the summer of 2017, which I chased on my own. There is nothing quite as awesome as standing under a beautifully-structured supercell in the wide-open spaces of the Great Plains.
I created time lapse videos from thousands of images taken in 2017, 2018 and 2024. If you’d like to see them, on my YouTube channel.
