Winter on the Prairies

I have been travelling to the Canadian Prairies every year since 2013 to photograph. More recently, most of these trips have been in winter. Winter on the Prairies can be bitterly cold: temperatures drop regularly drop below -25C and I have photographed in temperatures down to -40C. There is a profound silence that envelops the land in winter that I find beautiful to experience and beautiful to photograph. The soft light of shortened days draws me in and, I believe, conveys that wonderful silence.

You can read the stories of some of my multiple trips to the Prairies on my blog.
